My students are a wonderfully diverse group of kids in a close-knit, supportive school community. They all have varying academic, behavioral, and personal needs; some need more challenging learning, some need more scaffolded learning, and some also have special needs that require more intensive interventions. Our school population has grown every year I've taught here and there has been a growing waiting list every year. The staff and faculty are amazing and collaborative, the parents are pro-active and care about all the children, and the children are a sweet caring group of kids.
My Project
Developing growth mindsets and STEM skills go hand-in-hand for my budding learners! Please help my little 2nd grade seedlings blossom into great problem-solvers by donating to our project! The stem journals would provide a place to record their thinking, develop their plans deeper, and organize their thoughts. The STEM stories library will teach them and show them examples of growth mindset and a can do attitude, especially in the realm of STEM. the Magnetic base 10 set will help provide an extra model for my visual learners, as well as my English language learners do develop their number sense, place value, and mathematical understanding. TheEngineer-A-Coaster Activity kit will provide a way to practice problem solving in multiple ways, as well as provide a concrete item for my kinesthetic learners to manipulate.
