My Students

My students are extremely special to me! They are not just my students, they are my family. We love to laugh and learn together. I see them growing into tremendous readers and mathematicians day by day. They put their whole heart into all they do! Their favorite thing to do is read independently. They have discovered that books can take them on an adventure! I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!

My Project

These books will fit the needs of all of my second graders. They all read at different levels, from kindergarten to fifth grade. The variety of the reading levels of these books will ensure that my students are reading books that allow them to flourish and become more fluent readers. The students will engage in thirty minutes of independent reading each day. During this time, I will confer with 3-4 students and observe them reading a book at their level. I will then decide which strategies they can try while reading, so that they can become stronger and more fluent readers!
