Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a lively group of First Graders! We are an IB school in a low income area in Denton, Texas. We have 16 kids coming from many different background. Many student are reading below grade level. Our Campus goal is to have 85% or more of all students reading on grade level. You can help be a part of that!!
Our classroom is a Capturing Kids Hearts classroom.
We focus on being "Bucket Fillers" and being a self managing classroom. I know my kids would love and appreciate any and all books donated to our classroom!
My Project
On level, high interest books allow our students the freedom to choose many books to read in class or take home.
First grade is such an important grade where they are not just learning to read, but also increasing the most reading levels in a single school year.
They work so hard every day in guided reading groups, on iStation, and in their independent and group work. I want to have many books that are of high interest to foster a love for reading and promote life long learning <3
By donating to this project you can be a part of growing these students into amazing readers!
