Help me give my students the gift of reading through new series and nonfiction books. These books will continue to ignite a love of reading for our K-3 students.
Libraries can do so much for us, especially young children starting their reading journeys. Do you remember what if felt like to find that one book, the one that took you to a new world, or that taught you something new? This was the best feeling in the world, to get caught up in a book and know that you have a home waiting for you when you are finished and need a new book.
Each and every day our students come to the library to find more books to devour.
They are always asking for more books in a particular series or the latest books that were just published. I am the librarian at our K-3 school. We have a diverse population with many low-income families. Many our our students do not have book access at home and use our school library for their reading. I believe it is essential to build our K-3 library with new and updated materials. We are in need of new beginning chapter books and updated nonfiction books to allow our students to continue their reading journeys.
My Project
Adding these additional titles to our library will help our students continue to grow in their reading abilities, provide new materials for library check out, and inspire them to read more books. The titles reflect a growing need in both ability and interest for all of our students.
When we have new books, they fly out of the library into eager little hands to be devoured at home.
Each day students work hard at our school to improve on their reading skills and by funding this project you will be providing our students with new materials that will inspire them to read more. Students and future students will be able to enjoy these titles for years to come.
