My students need books in levels O, P and Q. They need higher level books than I have in my classroom library. What a wonderful "problem" to have.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This class of students came in strong. We have 4 students reading at a level Q already - higher than I ever have had in a 3rd grade classroom. More readers are on their heels. We need sets of "just right" books to support these growing readers.
These students come from the local neighborhood as well as from further away.
They are here because their families want them to succeed and are willing to help them meet the challenges of our rigorous school program. My students are third graders at a school in southern California. Our school is Title I with a large percentage of disadvantaged families.
My Project
Sets of leveled reading books in level O, P & Q will enable students in our class to "book shop" for titles right here in our class. Currently these students are having to go to other classrooms to scrounge for books. A set of new books on their level will really support these growing readers. New books always really motivate students. Getting these brand new titles will invigorate our daily reading time!
I expect this to be the highest class I have seen to this point.
These kids are engaged and motivated. They just need books to read! Watching them when I am able to put out any new books is really a joy. By helping, you will really be supporting children's literacy.
