Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from backgrounds that are difficult and challenging. They experience situations that would be difficult even for adults. Despite their hardships, they come to school with a love of learning and are always caring and kind. They make the best of what they are given.
They work hard to better themselves, our classroom, and our school.
They are a funny group that works together to create a fun and supportive learning environment. I am lucky to be their teacher.
My Project
Math is something many adults have struggled with or continue to struggle with. Children are no different. I have had many students over the years come to me and not know the days of the week or the order of the months. I am hoping to change that with the calendar math center that I am asking for. I am also asking for a hundreds chart that they can manipulate and enough number lines that they can have one at their desk.
Thriving in mathematics will have a significant effect on their future success in life.
Your donation to this project will give my students the skills to succeed in math. This donation will give them a chance to change their outlook on math and make them feel like they can be triumphant in math. You will be helping by giving them the tools to be successful.
