I work with an amazing group of students who are motivated to learn about and explore the world around them. Their drive to learn about our Earth and investigate the way things work has motivated me as a teacher and made my transition to a new school a truly life-changing event.

I have students who constantly want to revise work, stay for help, and complete extra work to increase their grasp of new concepts. I am so excited to see the projects and work that continues to grow in the minds of my students.
My Project
This last school year an amazing group of committed middle school students started a garden with me. Using an old batting cage and a few generous donations from Donors Choose, we started over 100 seedlings in our science classroom and created eight beds in our new garden.
Our next step is to create an outdoor greenhouse where we can work throughout the winter learning about climate change and the greenhouse effect while growing our own vegetables at school.
The greenhouse plastic and PVC pipes will allow my students to design and build their own greenhouse behind our school and better understand how the greenhouse effect both makes it possible for us to live on Earth, and why it is contributing to climate change.
