Growing Our Brains with Books!

Help me give my students the love of literacy. It's imperative that all readers have access to just the right book. Help get that book into their hands.

My Project

Did you know that boys on average take longer to learn to read than girls? Boys are also more inclined to read nonfiction and graphic novels. This is why it's critical that a classroom library has a variety of text that are high interest to boys, especially when they are first learning to read.

Boys are more likely to read stories that have characters that they see as themselves, so it's important for our classroom library to have books with those characters.

Even though boys tend to resist reading stories about girls, girls do not tend to resist reading stories about boys, so adding these titles to our classroom library will benefit ALL students in our class.
