My students need a 3/4 cello to accommodate for our growing orchestra with additional students with a smaller frame.

My Students

"Music can change the world because it can change people." - Bono. Music is not only an art, it is a way of living.

My students are always excited to come into class, no matter what type of day they are having.

With the stress of standardized testing, these students are resilient in being the best that they can be during their band class. Though we are far away from the urban area of our state, this does not stop me or my students from succeeding at our job: making music!

My Project

Now that our brand new school year has started, our program has grown by 25%! I am so happy about that and excited to see all my students.

The largest growth has been in my orchestra program.

With 25 students in the beginning class, there were many students who were excited to play the cello. When sizing them, I realized many of them are too small for my full sized cellos and playing on those would cause difficulty and potentially discouraging them from playing the instrument in the long run. I know by doing this, this might hurt my retention rate, as it is currently 82%.

By asking for your assistance in supporting my project, you are not only helping me. You are helping my future musicians feel that no matter what their body type is, they are able to play the instrument they want to play. I hope you truly consider helping my project out and encourage my students that there is no obstacle that we can overcome!
