My Project

In kindergarten and first grade, we learn all about plants. This project moves their experience beyond the classroom and gives students a more hands-on experience. This project will allow us to create a garden right in front of our classroom! My students will be able to see how plants grow and what their basic needs are in order to live. Students will participate in planting, watering, and harvesting what they have planted.

Studies have shown that gardening can improve many aspects of our mental health, focus and concentration.

This outdoor gardening experience can help improve students' moods and reduce their negative thoughts and feelings. I am hoping that providing my students with this opportunity will reduce their stress, thus allowing them to become more focused in the classroom.
