My third-grade classroom is a place for learning, support, and growth for twenty awesome students! We are located in a Title I school in North Carolina where many students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Students are unique in terms of academic ability, socio-economic status, and access to technology. It is my goal for ALL students to achieve social and academic growth in my classroom to better prepare them for a bright future no matter what obstacles they may face.
My Project
I would like to add four Amazon Fire Tablets to my classroom resources. Students will have daily experiences with technology for the purpose of remediation, acceleration, and assessment. Students in my classroom have various abilities, interests, and learning styles. Technology makes learning fun and also allows me to informally assess students and plan accordingly. Students will have daily experiences with literacy and math applications such as Raz Kids and Xtra Math which allows students to work at their own pace and independent level. Technology will also be used for research and exploration. Students will have the outside world at their fingertips. Students will have the unique opportunity to experience places that they may never have the opportunity to visit otherwise. I want technology to become a regular part of my classroom environment.
