I need resources to support my students. Without textbooks, we are left to our own devices. Like our motto, "You don't know what you don't know," I want to make sure I'm covering everything.
Welcome to our classroom! A wonderful 5th grade class that is a hybrid of gifted, English as a second language, general, and special education students. They are active and eager learners, compassionate and encouraging peers, and longtime and caring friends. We are a small school located right off the historic Marietta Square in Marietta, Georgia, about 30 minutes north of Atlanta.
"You don't know, what you don't know," is our classroom motto of the year as both students and myself travel on this journey of becoming more educated.
As the ELA teacher for the grade and a math teacher, I am responsible for growing readers, writers, mathematicians, and lovers of education!
Students are held to high expectations, and every day they strive to meet them, as I also hold myself to an even higher expectation and I work endlessly to meet their needs.
My Project
Professional development keeps teaching alive and gives educators a sense of rejuvenation. These books are going to give me the spirit to try something new and something challenging in my classroom for the good of my students.
My greatest goal is to have my students become independent and to move toward a student-driven classroom.
These resources will help me structure my ELA and reading classes to put learning in their hands, and to give me the guidance for when their learning gets off track.
My library of books is growing, now I want to make sure I am using them most effectively.
