Growing Independent Readers and Thinkers

Help me give my students noise cancelling headphones for independent reading activities in 7th and 8th grade classroom. With spring approaching, students would absolutely love having basketballs, volleyballs, and soccer to play outdoors during recess.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With COVID-19 regulations in place, my students have spent majority of their time inside the classroom, including lunch and recess. Students played games, enjoyed drawing and reading, but missed the outdoors.

Although Arizona's weather is amazing during winter, students who got their weekly turn to have outdoor recess on the field found themselves bored with not much to do .

Playing sports like volleyball, basketball and soccer will bring them so much joy in months to come. It will allowed them to get some fresh air while playing on teams again.
