My fifth-grade students come to school every day eager to learn! They are enthusiastic and love to read, write, and learn. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, helpers, and questioners.
My students are extremely hard working and have a strong desire to learn, help, and motivate each other, but at times our school lacks the materials and resources.
Our school's population is of high poverty, low-income households with a free or reduced-price lunch program.
We are facing many budget cuts, and my kids do not always have the supplies and resources they deserve (including workbooks, manipulatives, and hands-on activities). I do my best to buy, gather, and trade for the things they need, but there is only so much I can do alone. Together, we can make a true difference!
My Project
These grammar workshop workbooks will help enhance my students' grammar skills. The books will help guide my students to even more grammar proficiency than they already have.
Through these engaging and detailed workbooks, my students will be geared up to have even more success this school year.
The books are set up in a way that help students retain the information they learn. The activities and lessons are made interesting, which in turn will make students even more eager to learn. The books will be a resource to help me to guide my students to even greater success. The workbooks correlate closely with the PSSA, which is the standardized state test that students in PA take every year. The improved grammar skills will in turn extend to their writing and reading skills (both fluency and comprehension). Grammar is an area where students would benefit from having another resource.
