My students need another classroom iPad as my classroom size is expanding for the school year. It would be great if each student could have access to their own classroom iPad.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have diverse special needs. They are classified as "cognitive moderate/self-contained." They are a happy group of students and are eager to learn. They love learning through hands-on materials and technology. They seem to be reached better though visual/hands-on technology. We are a Title I school district and serve a low income population of students.
My students have challenges with communication and use technology to help them learn how to say or spell words.
Some students use communication boards and the iPads have many great communication apps that are available for student use. My students are generally very happy, appreciative, and eager to learn. Despite their many challenges, they are always willing to try a new skill and learn new concepts.
My Project
My students love their iPad time and it gives them a sense of independence. My classroom size is growing and I currently do not have enough iPads for each child. We are trying to raise funds for another classroom iPad so that each child can have an opportunity to utilize technology.
My students have communication challenges and the iPad allows them to express themselves.
They love to watch learning videos on the iPad, play games that foster their motor skills, and enjoy listening to music on the iPad during their free-time in class. We also use the iPads to help with simple addition and subtraction by using the calculator app. This gives my students real-world practice for when they are out in their community shopping.
