My Students
My students are 9-11 year old bundles of energy. More than 70% of my students receive free/reduced-price lunch. Our school has a great amount of community involvement, but we lack the resources needed to ensure that all of our students get the best education experience possible. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to have access to education resources, materials, and experiences.
My students are AMAZING!
Our school mission is to prepare students to become responsible and productive citizens in today's ever-changing society. We believe it is our obligation to help the students accomplish this by providing a variety of educational experiences in a safe and positive environment.
My Project
"Open a book and you open a world." I've seen this written numerous times and still believe that it's true. Facing reality means knowing that our world is really tough for kids.
In my classroom, my students love to escape to the world of books. Good role models and character education are very important for our students. Author Julia Cook has created several children's books that aim to guide children through those sticky situations that they may come across in their young lives. From dealing with divorce, death, being a good friend, or even time management, these books are written for children to learn from and enjoy.
