Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third grade classroom is full of a diverse, energetic and passionate group of kids. Their big hearts drive them in everything that they do. My kids are full of pride when it comes to their accomplishments, but also struggle with their weaknesses.
My goal is to foster creative, insightful, innovative students with a strong self belief in their capabilities.
I believe that to do that, we can't just teach information, but instead we need to instill a love of learning and passion for progress over perfection.
As a teacher, I am always looking for new ways to engage my students in their learning and new ways to better myself as a teacher. To do my best teaching, I need to continue growing as well!
My Project
As a teacher I believe that we are all life long learners, and while our world is ever changing, it only make sense so is our profession. The only way to keep up with that is to continue learning myself and this conference will allow me to continue to grow as an educator.
I am looking forward to learning new ways to engage my students - those who struggle academically, socially, emotionally AND those who are already growing - across all content areas so that ALL my students can feel successful.
This professional development will allow me to better my teaching practice, so that I can better my students learning. While my students may not be able to physically hold the product of this professional development, they will be able to grow even more as a result of it.
