My Students

I have an amazing class of 23 eager to learn kindergarten students! 82% of our students qualify for free lunches, and 30% of the school population is English Language Learners. I have students from 4 different countries within my own classroom!

I love being able to provide a classroom full of rich learning opportunities that many of my students have never had the chance to experience before!

I try to use lots of hands-on manipulative, as well as realia to bring the learning to life for my English language learners. I also like using the newest and most creative research based strategies to keep them engaged in the learning and to make each day fun and exciting!

My Project

If my project is funded, I plan to attend the conference, spend 3 days learning and sharing ideas. My school is 30 percent English Language Learners and 82% qualify for free and reduced lunches. I believe attending this conference would allow me to become more familiar with brain based learning strategies that would benefit all of my students. There are morning, afternoon, and even some evening sessions I could attend. I could then bring all of the newly gained ideas back to my school to share with my colleagues. I am excited to implement all of the new learning into my classroom!
