Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to our classroom! We are a 1st through 3rd grade class of students with autism. In the classroom, our students are working hard on reading, math, science, social skills, and their individual IEP goals. Outside the classroom, they join their peers in the larger, general classes for lunch, recess, and specials. We also love activities involving sensory integration, fun movement breaks, arts and crafts, and adaptive life skills.
My Project
These donations of a dual monitor will not only help to improve my teaching style and active engagement strategies but will also help my students to dig deeper in their learning. Especially with distance learning, a second monitor will help me as a new teacher to reach and plan for my students in these upcoming months. Students will benefit from my being able to attend to their needs, such as a raised hand or asking questions. Sometimes with distance learning, sharing a screen, it is very difficult to attend to their needs at the same time. When you have many students in the group and then they are writing in the chatbox or raising their hand, it is important to be able to see them all.
