Growing as a Deaf Educator

I need hotel cost, flight, and food costs for my Deaf Education Conference at the Double Tree Hotel in Fremont, CA. My school district is paying for the conference, but nothing else.

My Students

I have a wonderful classroom of students who are deaf. They are enthusiastic about learning hands-on projects where language is understood by doing.

My students are in a self-contained, deaf and hard of hearing classroom where all subjects are taught.

Each child is unique in their learning. As a specialized learning center, my students thrive with hands-on learning.

Since many are just learning language, visual tools help them to be successful. Each child wants to do their personal best and contribute to the classroom and the community.

Although they have many obstacles, these children are happy and eager to learn!

My Project

I am fortunate to have an opportunity to go to the Cal Ed Deaf Conference. This conference helps educators by providing workshops on strategies and tools to support Deaf Education.

Although my district is providing funding for this workshop, they are not providing airfare, housing, or food for this weekend Cal Ed Conference.

This conference provides the most comprehensive training, known throughout the country in regards to Deaf Education.

Having the opportunity to attend this conference will provide me with the best strategies, website support, and connections with new up and coming educational research and curriculum for the success and support of Deaf students and their families.
