My students need arts and craft materials to create flowers for our spring theme. They will also be learning about the life cycle of butterfly's and ladybugs and need kits.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Welcome to my preschool classroom where my three year old students have fun learning through hands-on experiences, social interactions, individual, small group and whole group experiences. We are a charter school in New Haven, CT and the students come from varied backgrounds, but the majority are from low-income families. I am the first teacher these students have at our school, and I strive to make their first year in school enjoyable and successful. Preschool students are curious and want to learn, and I am glad I can help them do that.

My Project

We will begin our theme about growing and changing in our preschool class on Monday April 2nd. We need some last minute supplies to fill our centers. The flower making kit will be added at the art center along with the straws to encourage students to create flowers. The vases will be added to the flower shop in dramatic play to arrange pretend flowers for sale.

Lastly the two life cycle kits and book are needed to help students observe how butterfly's and ladybugs grow and change over time with us releasing them on the playground when they are fully grown.

I am so excited to begin this theme with my students and these materials will help the students explore the topic in more depth.
