My students are comprised of a multiculturally diverse group of children. They are bright, inquisitive and very new to school, particularly computer technology. However, even though they can barely sit still, they are excited about life and learning.
My students are eager for knowledge and love hands-on experiences!
I want to cultivate and nurture the enthusiasm and curiosity that my young learners exhibit. My biggest challenge is funding for the technology materials that will bring the best educational experiences to my children. Thank you for your kindness and consideration.
My Project
We were so inspired by Ms. Bilello's LEGO project on robots that I wanted to begin a new journey into this exciting and challenging world! So our journey began with one LEGO BOOST robot and WOW!!! My students are extremely interested in learning about robots! I am requesting 4 more LEGO BOOST robots. These LEGO BOOST robots work great as an introduction to robots and robotics for my younger students. As Ms. Bilello states, "no student should be left out of this awesome academic endeavor" with robotic learning especially our youngest learners. Our problem is that we have large classes and we have just one LEGO robot to share. So many of my students have not had the opportunity to build or use the robot.
My students are so excited about the single LEGO robot that we have that I am trying to get some more materials to support their desires and enthusiasm for robots, coding and STEM education!
The LEGO BOOST robot will be used in our after school program as well as during our regular computer science period within the school day. The children are so excited about being part of this awesome group. I have so many students wanting to be part of our Computer Science club. It is directly attributable to this inspiring program.
We endeavor to increase our academic awareness with these programmable materials for our computer science program. With these robots, we will be able to do just that! It is my sincerest hope that these students will become our future engineers and leaders!
