Help me give my students a garden that can expand their connection to science, to food to table, to sustainability to real world occupations that can expand their career choices that are directly related to agriculture.
Our students are students who want to be a part of the real world experience. We have students who are advocates for change, motivators, inventors, gardeners, musicians, creators, artists, scientists and scholars. They question the world around them and pursue solutions to bringing about change.
They advocate for their community by raising awareness to hunger, animal needs, sustainability and community concerns.
They become involve in literacy projects and science events. Our students enter projects that require risk of self advocacy and working together to accomplish a common goal.
The tiller and weed cloth is so needed to help us to expand our garden and to properly till the soil to help our students to plant more beds and to expand our present garden we have additional area but we need these things to expand our garden.
We are presently getting volunteers to donate their equipment or recycling what we can.
We can do so much more to do place based learning in an environment that has the right agricultural elements. But we need these things to bring the garden to its full potential and to educate our students on sustainability and real world issues that can help empower change.
