My Students

My students show a great passion for learning and get excited when they connect with the content. We explore reading, social studies, science, and math topics with the world around us. I have some students who are learning English as a second language. My classroom consists of 8 girls and 12 boys.

We greatly enjoy activities that involve hands-on learning and exploring with materials in the classroom and outdoors.

Our first-grade class has fun at school. I enjoy connecting with them each day.

My Project

We are working towards evolving our front schoolyard into a beautiful school garden. Each grade would have a large raised garden area to plant and grow vegetables, fruits, and flowers. They will learn to care for living things and work toward grade level standards while enjoying outside time. Our school is a STEM school and this addition will add to the hands on learning our students do not otherwise get at home. What a joy it would be for our students to talk about their hard work and the process of planting.
