My students need carpet squares for times when we need defined spaces. My students love to jump, twirl, wiggle, spin, and move!

My Students

My preschool classroom is two half-day sessions. My AM class has 8 students with special needs along with 4 peer models. My PM class also has 8 students with special needs along with 4 peer models.

My students are just beginning their school experience and having hands-on, active play, and engaging activities available for them create many meaningful experiences!

Many of my students come from low income backgrounds, so having plenty of materials available for them to explore and learn about will help them grow as they begin their journey and then transition on to kindergarten.

My Project

Preschoolers love to move, and we want to encourage them to do so! Our large group activities are filled with movement, songs, stories, and games.

Carpet squares will allow the students the opportunity to move, but also have their own defined space.

This is important when we are learning about our bodies in space, personal space, and how to take ownership of classroom materials. We will be able to work on literacy skills also!

The carpet squares as an alternative to a large carpet will also allow our spaces to be movable so that we can utilize them throughout the classroom!
