I teach some amazing first graders in a Title I school. My students have a range in their learning abilities and levels. They crave structure, routine and most of all positive interactions. My students are interested in building their learning capabilities through books and hands on learning opportunities. Though my students range in their abilities we strive to teach them that we all learn in our own ways and sometimes what it takes one person to get right away it may take another person a little longer and that's okay!
My Project
My students need tools to help them be successful in the whole group and small group learning. In order for my students to be successful, they need to be able to manipulate their learning through dry erase sleeves that can easily insert a learning mat for various subjects. The pocket charts are used in creating writing sentences, math sentences. These charts can also be used for phonic lessons. These tools help solidify information taught. My students benefit from an organized classroom where these tools are easily accessible for all students.
