My Students

I teach at a Title I school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where 100% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Our wonderful district has faced enormous budget cuts, therefore forcing us (the teachers) to pick up a vast majority of the financial responsibility to ensure that our students are still successful in their schoolwork.

As a teacher, I will always do what I can to ensure that my students are receiving the best possible education that OKCPS has to offer.

Our children are our future and they deserve more than a mediocre educational experience.

My Project

My students are short on the basics such as pencils, crayons, folders, but most importantly, we're missing a meeting space for our group discussions. This year we will be focused on new and exciting hands on activities that will require us to all be together on the floor.

We desperately need an area rug.

My students would greatly benefit from this educational tool. It will help them to become comfortable participating in group settings and will help them to exercise their right to debate respectfully.

These students deserve the very best and by having an area rug, they will be more engaged.
