Group Activity Supplies for my 7th grade Science Class

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach at West Side Middle School in Amite, LA. This school is about 50 miles north of New Orleans. This year, I received displaced students in my home room and in my grade. Supplies have been hard to get from the students this year. Most of my students are on a free lunch program already and I can't ask them to bring in extra materials for group activity. The displaced students from New Orleans barely have clothing provided by local donors. When doing group work, the groups need materials such as crayons, markers, paper, glue, scissors, staplers, poster board, and modeling clay to name a few items. One of the main projects I do in my class is summarizing a section which the group will need posters and markers or pens and paper to write with. Then, the students will draw out an organizer to demonstrate the chapter. Sometimes, groups will need clay to model things in science such as a cell model. Hands-on activities such as cooperative learning groups are essential to learning. The many styles of learning can be addressed in a group activity setting and this is the reason why we need these supplies. Thank You.
