Help me give my students a Breakout EDU kit to support their problem solving and critical thinking skills while helping them have fun, meaningful, and engaging learning opportunities.
My students are second to none! I teach a population that has a wide variety of learners who represent each and every learning style. My students come from a number of different backgrounds, representing a diverse number of needs and experiences. I want to ensure that my students are given tools they need to succeed in fourth grade through supporting them in building skills that will last a lifetime.
My students are eager, engaged, and motivated learners.
Each day, they inspire me to reach and teach my best through offering them the challenges that they excitingly seek. Every day, my students come prepared and eager to learn, set goals, and meet these goals through their academic experiences.
My Project
The Breakout EDU kit and platform access will allow me to create a fun and meaningful learning environment for my students. With this kit, students will be able to collaboratively use critical thinking and problem solving in these educational games. The kit comes with locks, hidden contraptions, timers, keys, and other “diversion hardware” that can be used as students solve problems in a fun setting. With this, students are able to practice using "stick-with-it-ness" and persevere in the face of a problem, which builds important character qualities.
This kit can be used across the curriculum, making the possibilities endless.
Students can learn and review standard-based skills using an approach that also requires them to apply problem solving skills in a collaborative, real-world context. Pairing this kit and the platform access with the curriculum will allow students to be more engaged, excited, and eager to learn. These fun and meaningful learning experiences will allow my students to not only better retain information but also have fun doing so!
Aside from building knowledge, these kits will also help build character. Students will be using essential life skills (such as communication, collaboration, and teamwork) to solve these problems. As a teacher, I believe it is important to help support student development that extends beyond academic knowledge and reaches into building the leaders of tomorrow; this kit is the perfect way for me to provide both of these services to my students.
