This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love to learn! They love to move and are excited to find out about our world. They are inquisitive and have many interests that continue to push their thinking. As a class, we work on encouraging each other to focus on our strengths which, in turn, builds confidence in all that we do.

About 53% of our students receive a free or reduced-price lunch.

We live in a suburb of a large city in Michigan. I have five special education students and others who are below grade level. In our classroom, we learn, laugh, and love!

My Project

The current hula hoops are bent in many different places. The balls are flattened and there are not many things to choose from on the playground. The students often make up their own games to choose from on the playground because they don't have many quality items to play with. They are great kids and we have an awesome community at our school. However, recess could really be enhanced by providing the kids with new playground equipment.

Recess is the part of the day that students learn to develop social skills, team building qualities, create relationships, and pursue their own interests, so your donation will help to build all of these areas!
