My students come from a range of backgrounds and countries, their diversity is what makes my heart smile. Our philosophy in my class is that we are a family and family looks out for each other, supports each other, and helps each other.
All the work done in my room is done in teams and collaboratively, and these kids know what teamwork means.
They are the kindest group of children I have ever taught. I have a heart desire to keep them healthy, emotionally, and physically, and happy.
My Project
Our science club at our school has been gardening for the last 7 years and due to time and weathering, we need to repair plots so they can be used again. We currently only have 2 of our 8 plots available for planting. That is why we need new raised-bed garden kits.
These veggies that we grow teach the children about sustainability and responsible land use.
I love the saying "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for life!" We are giving life skills to our children that will have lasting impacts.
Gardening teaches also teaches our kids about community spirit ( we give all of our crops away) and how to be self-sufficient. Plus, they love to be outside and in the dirt! These requested plots will allow us to finish planting our fall crop of broccoli, kale, onions, and cabbage. Thanks for considering our project.
