Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach fourth grade in a low income school district with students with a wide range of abilities and different learning styles. The majority of my students speak Spanish as their main language. They come to school seeking new experiences and hands on activities. I live within my school district and my goal is to create life long learners. I want to provide the best education possible for the students I share my classroom with. They deserve the very best!
My Project
My students crave sitting on the floor and are willing to do it. I want to give them suitable flexible seating to allow the most out of their experiences. The rug will allow us to gather together for reading and for class meetings. The seats will allow students to complete activities using clipboards. Currently, my classroom includes tables and chairs with the addition of two very used bean bags. They love to be on the floor and move around the room but my classroom is lacking in flexible seating. I feel strongly about students feeling comfortable within their environment. Please help give my students choices!
