Help me give my students on the Green Team, "The Lorax", and "How To Help The Earth" books to empower them in their sustainability leadership efforts.

My Pre-Kindergarten students are enthusiastic "college bound" learners! They are intelligent, young students, but the reality is that their socioeconomic statuses and zip codes put them at an academic disadvantage, as compared to their more affluent peers. They are in dire need of having access to quality materials, both inside and outside of the classroom. However, providing them with the supplies necessary to learn in this context is a struggle due to severe budget cuts.
For most of my students, this is their first experience in a structured learning environment.
I want to be able to make their first learning experience hands-on and fun!
This is the first year our school is truly focused on sustainability efforts. Sustainability (such as recycling, using less energy, reducing, etc.) is new to many students, families, and staff members in our community. We started a "Green Team" of about 35 students, grades Pre-K through second, to help spread awareness and understanding of sustainability. We have monthly meetings with special guests visitors, host school-wide events to increase sustainability awareness, field trips planned to environmental sites, etc. Our Green Team members are enthusiastic and sincere about educating their peers, teachers, and families about ways to "go green!" They have big ideas for the team- such as starting a school garden, and making sure everyone knows what can and cannot be recycled in the classrooms.
We are proud of the leadership efforts of our Green Team members, and want to continue to provide them with materials to empower their love for sustainability, and educating others to make a positive difference.
We would love to provide each of our Green Team members with a copy of the book, "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss, as well as the book "How to Help the Earth- by the Lorax". "How to Help the Earth" is a rhyming story that helps build early reading skills and offers simple suggestions for going green, from reducing waste and saving energy to donating used objects and recycling. We know that these stories will be cherished by our Green Team members and empower them to continue to L.E.A.D (Learn Educate And Do).
