Green Screens Belong in Class, Not Just Movies & Television
Help me give my students a green screen/backdrop, digital camera (iPad), and tripod to let their creativity and excitement show through green screen experiences like the media and movies do.
My students are happy, energetic fifth graders. They enjoy working in groups and talking about texts, questions, current events, or just life. The students are part of a school that continues to celebrate its focus on education and community. Our school believes everyone can learn and should be encouraged to deliver their best. Many students are lucky enough to live with several generations in their households. We are blessed that moms and dads, aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas, as well as teachers and administrators, together add to our students' educational experience.
My students crave and thrive on creativity.
They love public speaking and constantly search for ways to differentiate their work from their classmates. These amazing individuals take learning seriously and continually push themselves to be the best at getting better.
My students love learning and look forward to utilizing technology to convey their thoughts and ideas and share their take on their 5th grade world.
My Project
My students want to use their voices to communicate their learning. These tools - green screen/backdrop, digital camera (iPad), tripod, and an app - provide a platform for digital representations of their understanding.
They will be able to make STEM challenges, history, and language arts come to life by taking us on a tour through the human body, showing us the laws of science and engineering, explaining history with a digital twist, and more.
The applications are endless. This addition to our classroom will be the most sought after tool to express their learning.
A green screen allows the editor to remove the green background and replace the backdrop with an image or video of their choice. I can’t wait to see the ideas they come up with, the products they personally create, and their pride when sharing with their classmates.
