Help me give my students the chance to improve the landscape of their school. They want to create a rain garden using rain barrels and composters for plant waste.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are some of the most incredible kids anybody would be lucky enough to meet. They are willing to try new things, they work hard each day, and they are eager to learn.
At my school, the students tend to come from a variety of backgrounds.
They do not tend to have a lot of material items, and as a teacher, I supply what I can. I would love to be able to give my students the same types of educational experiences that other students get to have.
My Project
Our school is focusing to become a Green School. With this project, we are teaching students how to compost, recycle, and convert landscapes to prevent waste.
With this project, students will clean up and green up their campus.
We have a few campus wide projects this year to complete our goal of becoming a Green School.
The rain barrels will be used to convert an area of campus that frequently floods. The composters will be used to take plant and kitchen material around campus and reuse it in the school garden. The recycling bins will be used to collect recycling from classrooms and around campus to keep it clean.
