I have the pleasure of teaching math to over 80 sixth grade students. My school is an intermediate school that encompasses only sixth grade and includes students from several areas around my district. When they enter my classroom, students have the opportunity to meet students from other neighborhoods that they would not otherwise have the chance to interact with.
Everyday I have the pleasure of teaching some of the best students in the world!
They have a great sense of humor, work hard in class, and can be so compassionate towards others.
My Project
My school uses PBIS, which standards for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Through this program, students are encouraged to make good decisions at school. Good behavior and choices are modeled for them and as a faculty, we do all we can to encourage them to be their best. As a result, I'd like the opportunity to set up a classroom rewards box to motivate my students!
Since my students are preteens, they struggle with discovering who they are and how to present themselves to others---this means making good decisions when faced with potential scrutiny by peers can be difficult.
By helping me purchase these pencils, erasers, lanyards, I can use these as rewards for making great choices.
