Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am writing this proposal for my high school students who participate in our music program. Our high school serves a large urban area and has a high percentage of students from low-income homes. Our student body is culturally diverse and provides our school community an opportunity to experience music and customs from many cultures as we interact every day.
Many of my students do not have the opportunity to explore and experience high-quality music instruction outside of the school setting.
It is exciting to see them grow in their knowledge and excitement of music. Many of our students will continue their participation in the music program for 3 or 4 years during high school.
My Project
Our school is starting a new keyboard class. We need an audio output box for students and teachers to hear keyboard playing through their headphones without interrupting the work of others. The lavalier and boom microphone will be used to communicate to students while they are wearing headphones. Having access to this kind of technology will definitely increase the level of keyboard instruction that my student receive. We have dozens of students who are interested in learning how to play a keyboard. They will be so impressed by the high tech instruments that are available in the keyboard class.
Providing them with keyboard instruction will open up so many opportunities to experience music.
My students are creative and determined. I know that once they experience success at various levels of keyboard playing they will reach for even higher levels of success.
Help my students experience music learning in practical and meaningful ways as they participate in keyboard instruction designed for their own abilities and interested in music.
