Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are unique individuals with great personalities; they are funny and sweet. They are energetic with personalities bigger than anything.

They are also autistic with different sensory needs.

Their ages are between 3 and 6. They are partially verbal with a great desire to learn but they need help with sensory blockages. They need a safe place to go when sensory issues come up so they are not interfering with the learning of other students in the class and so that they can be safe.

My Project

Students have many sensory needs and they need a place to go when things get too much for them.

The room will be a quiet place to decompress when their sensory issues become a problem.

Sensory issues have a great impact in my students’ ability to function in the classroom setting. The bean bag chairs and lounger will be a safe place for the students to sit and not hurt themselves. The ear phones will help students with auditory issues, every day noise or the lights in the classroom. Each of my students will benefit from these items.

Then they can continue learn and be safe.
