My students need music CDs for jazz ensemble and books on jazz improvisation/history in order to develop their skills in America's greatest original art form.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students represent a very diverse community, which is wonderful in that a wide range of socio-economic levels, ethnicities, and languages are present in our school.
Our students tend to be in the lower middle class or even below the poverty level, and therefore are quite needy when it comes to basic school supplies or personal belongings.
Teachers often mitigate this by donating clothes or food items in various drives which are intended to help the community.
I would like to help in the way of providing music and music books for their band and music classes.
My Project
The musical enrichment resources that I have selected will offer a wide and deep range of learning for our deserving jazz band students, one that could not be replicated in any other way, as our school funding is limited.
As actor/director Clint Eastwood has pointed out, America has two original art forms, the western movie and jazz music.
This collection of resources will vastly improve our students' knowledge, playing, and enjoyment of our national heritage - jazz music.
Students will play in ensembles using these books, and teachers will learn new methods to guide them through the joy of playing jazz music.
