My third graders love to sing and dance and draw. They are very outgoing and love going out to practice opening their lockers. They walk in every morning just beaming with sunshine and spirit, ready to take on the world.
The Third Grade offers many new challenges for my students, and so far they have been up to the challenge!
On day 2, they were given lockers with a combination lock. In years past, students would take two or three days to master the process of opening the lockers. This year 90% of my students did it on day 1!
Another challenge they face is sharing a classroom with 35 other students. With 36 students, resources are shared and/or get depleted very quickly. My students and I appreciate any help you can provide us!
My Project
In this digital age where students play online math games and work through math problems within 3-5 seconds, sometimes it is important to slow things down and bring it back to analog. In this case though, I am talking about dry erase markers and whiteboards.
Dry erase markers and whiteboards allow students to work individually and then share their ideas with peers in a small group as well as the whole classroom.
Help our students collaborate so they can learn from each other's ideas.
While we have whiteboards-a-plenty, dry erase markers are getting scarce! We need a resupply soon to last until the end of the year. Having a few dry erase spray bottles at each group will help students get to work on the next problem faster.
