Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I get to spend my days with 20 amazing preschoolers! This is the first school experience for many of them and they are already showing their eagerness to learn! Although our school is predominately low-income, (100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch) these little guys and girls are all HIGHLY motivated to learn! Our classroom consists of many different backgrounds, ethnicities, and learning abilities; however, our motto is "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work" and we work together every day to help each other learn.
My Project
All children deserve to experience great literature. As a preschool teacher, it is my priority to make sure that my students are exposed to books in many different ways. We read stories, act them out, and watch them on video.
Today's students need to experience literature and technology.
Unfortunately, many of our students do not have access to either at home. By providing us with both books and tablets, I can ensure that my students not only are exposed to such great literature, but that they are gaining the technological skills they will need in the future. We also need comfy seats on which to read our books. We will be able to watch stories being read, read ebooks and utilize educational games in comfort.
