This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Last year, my classroom was a hybrid of face-to-face and virtual instruction. This year we have returned to all face-to-face instruction five days a week.
I am a firm believer that a prekindergarten classroom should be a welcoming place where students feel comfortable enough to focus on learning through fun and games.
My students wake up every day full of life and energy, ready to learn about exciting and new adventures that await them.
They need fun and exciting materials to help with this learning process.
My Project
These books will help increase my students' love of reading, as well as, open up their minds to new vocabulary words along with increasing their comprehension skills.
We are currently trying to fill our classroom library with books that are age-appropriate and that will bring joy and excitement to their faces as they begin to discover the world of reading all on their very own.
All of my students want to have the pleasure of being able to have various books or stories read to them by me or their parents. So by increasing the number of books in our classroom library, it will help to make this conquest possible.
