Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students! My kids! I have 24 kiddos who are full of joy and love to be creative. They come to school everyday ready to learn. They love reading, sharing their art, and books they've read. More then half of my students receive a free lunch daily and come from single income homes.
My Project
I love teaching through the tools of AVID one pagers and Thinking Maps.
It gives my kids the ability to demonstrate their learning through creative and effective ways.
The journals and tool kits (pencils, crayons, pencil sharpener) will allow my students to show what they have learned, what they have read, and what they are thinking. I have realized this week as I have navigated distance learning that my students don't have the resources to help them be successful. I love teaching and they love learning whether together or far apart.
