A child's first grade year is so exciting! They know how the whole school thing works and they come in ready to learn how to read and become mathematicians. In our class of 20 students, we have a wonderful mix of backgrounds that add to the sparkle in our room.
Witnessing their understanding grow of how letters and numbers work is magical!
Students are on different levels of understanding but they are growing and that's what matters. Giving them the tools and resources to help them be all they can be and reach their potential is an important goal of mine!
These Osmo Genius Kits and coding activities will be used in our classroom every single day. We will use them as a cross curricular resource to help strengthen reading, math, and coding skills. This technology is truly exceptional! The students are able to physically manipulate letter tiles, number tiles, pen and paper while their creations show up on the iPad screen. Engagement at the highest level will be achieved as students work together and even compete together in friendly competitions.
Our world is ever changing and evolving and my classroom has got to change and evolve to meet the technology and academic needs of my learners.
Imagine our classroom abuzz with excitement over learning to write code to control movements. Imagine how thrilling it will be to see their creations on the screen of the iPad. Imagine the 100% engagement of their little minds as they manipulate letters to make words that will appear on the screen. Talk about motivation!
