Our students come to us from a variety of ethnic cultures. We serve a population of students with over 40% coming from low income socioeconomic backgrounds. Our middle school serves over 1200 students.
We are Texas Strong, and a community that sticks together and helps our fellow neighbors and friends.
Our students continually give back to the community through service learning projects. They work hard to provide food, clothing, and toys to those in need, to clean up our roads with trash pick up, and to perform music concerts for our local retirement home.
My Project
We need a new electric dryer to be able to wash and dry our aprons, hats, towels, and washcloths daily.
We have a junior culinary school at our middle school and we need a new dryer for the daily drying needs.
We cook an average of three to four times a week with over 150 students. That is a lot of laundry and we need a new dryer to help us keep our hats, aprons, towels and wash cloths clean & dry.
We go through a lot of laundry every day and our current dryer is struggling to keep up. We need a larger capacity electric dryer to dry our items quickly and safely. Our students are learning responsibility and taking ownership by helping with laundry and the folding it to prepare for the next day's cooking labs.
