Our students come to us from a variety of ethnic cultures. We serve a population of students with over 30% coming from low-income socioeconomic backgrounds. Our middle school serves over 1200 students. My students include special needs, ESL, and 504 students with a variety of accommodations.
We are Texas Strong and a community that sticks together and helps our fellow neighbors and friends.
Our students continually give back to the community through service learning projects. They work hard to provide food, clothing, and toys to those in need, to clean up our roads with trash pick up, and to perform music concerts for our local retirement home.
My Project
Please help my culinary students learn how to cook and bake by giving them the right tools for the job.
My students are in desperate need of quality commercial electric oven to learn how to cook and bake in.
We are rebuilding our 21 year old kitchen and we need heavy duty ovens to do this.
I am teaching middle school students how to cook at a professional culinary level and we need the right equipment to allow my students to safely prepare their culinary creations.
The students are learning how to sauté, braise, roast, and bake many different recipes throughout the school year. Working in a 21 year old kitchen creates many challenges. Our current cabinets and tables are torn up from years of use. We need new an oven range for our kitchen station.
We not only cook and bake for our class, we also do special occasion events in our school. The students compete in cooking competitions and having the right equipment is essential for their success. During the year my students create fun items such as kettle corn, decorated cookies, and dipped pretzels to give to guests at our beginning of the school year registration, open houses, and other special events. We want our community to feel comfortable coming to school events and nothing says welcome, more than yummy food.
