Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are at a bilingual school in Denver, where they have the chance to excel in not just one, but two different languages. The students come in not just ready to work hard and succeed for this year, but to work hard in life. They are hard-working students who could benefit greatly from more hands-on materials to work with. Income level varies from student to student as does the background and culture for each student.
Any chance the students get to learn with experience and really understand how school applies to their future captures their interest.
Day to day, the students learn that school is not just about academics, but that school is to learn about themselves and what life has to offer. They love to share their personal stories and relate their experiences to what they learn.
My Project
Children have a short attention span. Centers are a great way to keep my students engaged in the subject while changing activities to boost their retention. My students' abilities range from student to student and having various centers allows them to work at their own level at their own pace. The centers create more positivity and productivity from the lowest to the highest student.
With the centers organizer, students will know where they are going without confusion.
Laminated cards at each center allow for vibrant interactive styled centers to keep all students highly engaged.
Getting a perfect paper back is awesome, but stamps make students smile at their success with emphasis!
