My Students

My students come to our school from all over the district in order to receive a more enriching experience. They are inquisitive, motivated, and passionate about learning, especially when it comes to literature. My students live for new books to read and discuss together.

Because these students are excited by great literature, we spend lots of time digging deep into great books.

We experience enriching learning opportunities centered around the themes, background, writing style, and vocabulary of selected great literature.

My Project

We study great books as a class every year by delving deep into their figurative language, writing craft, themes, vocabulary, and cultural context. In order to really dig deep into the stories, each student needs their own copy to allow for notations and highlights.

We will take a book per quarter and read it as a class with plenty of enriching and engaging activities to bring these books to life.

At the end of the year, the students will be able to keep these books in their own personal library to continue to treasure and enjoy for years to come.
