Children are amazing! I am lucky enough to call some of them my students. I will be getting started on a new year with a new school and a new grade. Three cheers for new opportunities.
As a dual language school, text is important!
We need help building a library that these students deserve! In our classroom library, I hope to provide children a variety of genres, authors and give them the option to choose books in English and in Spanish.
Having taught kindergarten and then fourth grade these last two years, I haven't been able to truly build a strong classroom library for third graders. Will you help me?
Children in my class participate in a dual language program. They are taught in both English and in Spanish throughout the year. In my classroom, we have a library of great books donated from families and friends throughout the year.
This year, I want to be intentional with what types of books these bilingual students deserve.
I have chosen books with great, cultural content, as well as books in both English and in Spanish. My dream is for all children to fall in love with reading. Providing books in which they can see themselves and read in their home language will help me do that!
