Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many students arrive on the first day of school without the supplies they need to be successful. This grant will provide every child who enters my classroom with all of the supplies they will need every day.
These supplies will help each student stay super organized throughout the year, and learning time will never be wasted with students looking for school supplies.
These school supplies will help ensure every child begins the year feeling great and ready to learn. Some of the children are unable to afford the necessary school supplies they need, and that impacts how they feel about school. I want them all the be able to start out with a successful first few weeks of school, which will lead to a successful year.
What an amazing feeling on the first day of school when each student enters the classroom to find all these school supplies waiting for them on their desks. A great first day of school leads to a successful school year.
I will utilize post-it notes for our interactive read-aloud. I have will have pre-made questions to challenge the students each morning, and to give them something to write about in their writing journals.
I will use the decorations/bulletin board paper to decorate my bulletin boards and walls to fill up with student work.
I will utilize the stem lessons in science to make science come to life.
The students will use the spiral notebook as a math problem of the day notebook. They will use the composition notebook as a writing journal to show how their writing improves as the year progresses. They will use the pencil case to hold their pencils and all school supplies. They will use crayons, scissors, and glue for art and center projects.
